THE WEEKEND

It's been a while since I posted one of these- but truthfully, I haven't been around to spend a weekend at home doing the things I love to do. So this weekend, I took full advantage of the opportunity to sleep in, indulge in magazines, make coffee dates, stroll around the city and visit the art gallery.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend doing all the things that you love to do.

1. Lazy morning with Vogue in bed. 2. I like sitting in this corner to write, but during the week this corner is often forgotten. 3. Sleepy faces on morning/afternoon strolls. 4. Blair's homeade brunch inspired by the latest Food & Wine. 5. Suzy Lake exhibit at the AGO. 6. I adore the sunlight in our apartment. 7. A sunny Sunday and view from our rooftop.

THE WEEKEND

After a busy Christmas filled with lovely visits, many dinners, and a fair bit of driving, we took off up north to cottage country for a week. Yoga by the fireplace, outdoor hikes and strolls, visits to nearby sleepy towns, reading, writing and a cozy New Years Eve with homemade soup, hot toddies and few too many other spirits- a week that could be summed up as "total recuperation", and unanimously agreed to become a yearly tradition.

1. On the road essentials. 2. The road to the cottage. 3. Homemade eggs benny done to perfection! 4. Fresh snow and jeans that match it. 5. Taking in some vitamin D on a hike. 6. Morning view from the cottage.  7. Expeditioners on missions.  8. I call this winter prairie grass but really have no idea what the plant is. 9. Speciality coffee makes for a delicious warm treat on the trail. 10/ 11. I love this swing bridge with so many beautiful angles for shooting. 12. Accidental shot while practicing with the new camera.

THE WEEKEND

With the weekdays as busy as they have been, the time on the weekend has been about taking it slower, getting as much fresh air as possible, and appreciating the few last patio drinks of the season.

1. Lovely white pumpkins found in the market. 2. Meet Pearl, a friend's puppy that I get to steal for walks. 3. Pearl can only sit pretty for so long. 4. A well deserved drink after a good long bike ride. 5. Prepping for dinner 6. Quinoa salad in cabbage tacos with tahini dressing, topped with cashews 7. Visits from mom bring Mukluks slippers- winter is coming!

THE WEEKEND

I'm sure it goes without saying that I am not a photographer. However, I don't want the focus of this series of posts to be misinterpreted. So it had to be said. I simply love weekends as much as the next guy. The Weekend post will be a place to appreciate and reflect on the moments big, small, and past.

1. Making the most of what is left of patio season over brunch 2. Black and white, black and white 3. Spiralized zucchini for Zucchini & Soba Noodle Basil Spinach Pesto. Recipe post on this soon.  4. West enders lost in the east end 5. A new addition in the home: String of Pearls
